First Friday of the month
The first Friday of each month, we bring in a presenter on a sustainability issue; eg, environment, community, local food, etc. These programs are held in Celebration Hall (the lower floor of the main building) generally an hour long starting at 6:30 pm and are preceded by a potluck which begins at 5:30pm. These programs are free and open to all. For more info: 828 524-3691
Some of the programs are “Skill Shares” where a particular sustainable living skill is taught; eg, cheese making, making sauerkraut, basket making, etc. These may be scheduled at times other than the first Friday. They may include a request for donations to cover material costs.
