Build Your Own Theology

If we define religion as the core of ultimate meanings, values and convictions out of which we live our lives; theology is the intellectual process of analyzing, clarifying, criticizing, articulating and symbolizing those meanings, values and convictions that grow out of experience. BYOT will guide you through the 10 sessions which will provide readings and conversations to gain perspective on important elements and provide an opportunity for you to develop your own set of meanings, values and convictions to guide the rest of your life. Game Night!

We play games to have fun and to spend time with each other. Playing games together is a way of sharing life together. This Saturday night, like most Saturday nights, we will gather to play games. Many of the games are easy to learn and we are willing to teach newcomers.

News and Notes

COVID-19 news: At this time we are holding worship services ONLY on Zoom. Covid-19 and the Delta-Variant are still at large especially in Macon County. The Omicron-Variant is appearing in both NC and GA. In all Counties, Jackson, Macon and Rabun, we urge everyone to take community and personal responsibility to continue to wear masks and do social distancing. We had a minor reprieve but the moment is over and we need to be diligent in how we role model and take care of ourselves and others. You can track Macon County case data here.
A few non-worship events are hybrid (online and in-person). People attending in person must show proof of vaccination. Given the evolution of the virus and the high proportion of our congregation who are elderly and/or chronically ill, masks and social distancing are still expected at such events.
