Speaker: Fallen Herard
They say that to truly impact a community, you have to speak its language. Our speaker today speaks many languages. From her roots in Miami and her Haitian and Spanish heritage, to the complex languages of Software Engineering and Mathematics, Fallen Herard has spent her life bridging worlds.
With a Bachelor’s in Math Education from Broward College and a master’s in software engineering from Nova Southeastern University, she spent six years on the front lines of Title I schools, proving that education is the ultimate upgrade, and six more years as a Software Engineer at VMware, now Broadcom. Today, she serves as the Media Head at the Remnant Seventh-day Adventist church in Indian Land, South Carolina. She is a devoted pet mom to Carl the cat and two pups, and today she is joined by her best friend and personal bodyguard, Deana. Recently relocated to Sylva four months ago because of her love for the mountains and joined the faculty at Southwestern Community College to share her devotion to technical education with the next generation.
Her life is guided by a simple, profound ideology: ‘Servant to God and a friend to man.’
