Speaker: Rev. Claudia Jiménez
Rev. Claudia Jiménez (she/ella) is a Unitarian Universalist minister transitioning from parish to community ministry. She is based in Asheville, NC, where her work centers collective liberation, racial equity, immigration justice, and faith-rooted community building. A longtime educator, minister, and leader in faith formation, she is also part of the Racial Equity Collective, which organizes Racial Equity Institute trainings in Asheville. Claudia brings a deeply relational approach to justice work grounded in collaboration, belonging, and thriving for all.
Claudia’s background is in education having taught elementary school and middle school science in the US and abroad. While in seminary, Claudia completed the requirements to become a Credentialed Religious Educator considering it an integral part of her preparation for parish ministry. She served as Minister of Faith Formation at UU Asheville for eight years after graduating from Meadville Lombard Theological School in 2018. Prior to seminary she served as Director of Religious Education for the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach, FL for seventeen years. During that time, she ran for office and served on her local school board for eight years. Claudia and her husband Steve are proud parents of two adult daughters. When not engaging in ministry she enjoys Latin dancing, hiking and traveling.
